Dornan are currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer to join our team in Little Island Cork.
Reporting to the Business Unit CSA Lead you will be the Structural Engineering point of contact across all projects in Ireland, UK & Mainland Europe.
Your day to day will include:
- Working on a number of various data centre projects ranging in size, location and value from inception to handover.
- Site visits, to projects in Ireland, UK and mainland Europe.
- Coordinate pipe / bracketry structural calculations for pre-tender packs
- Support site teams with additional structural calculations, where required
- Complete pre-start meetings with civil contractors.
- Provide support to construction team, commercial, quality and planning teams.
- Oversee structural design requirements and liaise with suppliers regarding technical matters.
- Undertake design reviews with the client, design team and contractors.
- Responsible for reviewing structural Technical Submissions and generation of RFI's and tracking thereof.
- Ensuring compliance with Building standards and regulations across multiple countries
- Aid with the production of detailed documentation.
- Working as part of the new CSA team.
- Attend structural meetings online where required.
What we are looking for:
- Experience with large scale projects.
- Minimum 3 years' experience on the ground in Civil Engineering.
- Third level qualification.
- Experience with AutoCAD/Revit
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of engineering principles and construction.
- Able to work as a team but also to work on own initiative.
- Confident and ambitious, with the willingness to progress on a long-term basis.
- BIM Modelling Experience
