At Dornan we are currently recruiting for a Planning Manager to join the Planning Team in the Cork office, managing the setup of a new client for multiple data centre projects across Europe. The role will involve management of a Cork based support team as well as functionally supporting the project based teams during construction
Your day to day will include:
- Managing & leading a team of Planners (Interns, Graduates, Intermediate & Senior)
- Ensuring team is structured and roles & responsibilities are clearly defined
- Ensure team and individual deadlines are met
- Project Planning using Primavera P6
- Using Software such as Excel, Power BI, OpenSpace & Bluebeam to produce day to day deliverables
- Develop Pre-Construction, Construction and Commissioning Program's as part of the Dornan project team
- Ensure Site walks are caried out on a weekly basis to ensure the planner is familiar with the projects progress
- Scheduled and ad hoc discussions with all/any project team members around day-to-day site issues/events
- Manage the planning process in terms of developing and managing the project lifecycle in terms of planning, progress & reporting, driving the Dornan team to engage
- Have the capability to facilitate Planning Workshops with multiple stakeholders and/or sub-contractors as part of Schedule development as well as mid project co-ordination.
- Attend formal and informal project meeting and reviews with all stakeholders, including internal to Dornan, Clients, Suppliers, Service Providers and Subcontractors.
- Maintain good relations and facilitate exchange of information between client and Dornan, as well as internally to assure alignment of strategic objectives.
- Be an active member in the cross-functional project team, liaising with Commercial, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA, Turnover, and other Functions; identify potential areas of concern and resolve them before they become issues.
What we are looking for:
- Advanced user of Primavera P6
- Solid CSA, Mechanical, Electrical & Cx construction experience, ideally in data centre projects
- Knowledge and experience of Delay Analysis Techniques
- Knowledge of BIM & Engineering Process particularly at Pre-Construction Stage
- Knowledge & understanding of QA handover Process and Commissioning (Cx) at project turnover stage.
