Dornan are currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist to work in our Head Office in Little Island. This is a 6-month Fixed Term Contract.
Dornan are a leading Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation contractor with projects in Ireland, Europe and the UK. Dornan are involved in projects across many sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Power, Waste to Energy, Commercial, Data Centre and Petrochemical.

The payroll specialist will work within the busy payroll department and be involved with the processing of in-house weekly and monthly payrolls for Ireland, UK and outsourced European payrolls.
Roles and responsibilities
- Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll
- Maintain employee records and process all payroll related changes, including hew hires, terminations, salary adjustments
- Calculation and administration of benefits, allowances and statutory and voluntary deductions
- Timely resolution of employee queries
- Respond to payroll related queries from internal and external business partners
- Responsible for payroll reporting and ensuring that the general ledgers are updated accurately and on time
- Assist with reconciling monthly payroll accounts
- Provide manual calculations and payments as and when required
- Liaise with HR, Finance, Auditors, Tax Authorities and any external partners and institutions
- Continuously reviewing existing payroll procedures and providing suggested improvements where required
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies in relevant countries
- Keep up to date with payroll related regulatory changes
- Ensure payroll procedures comply with internal compliance and GDPR
- Other ad‐hoc duties, month‐end and year end tasks as required
Experience, Education & Skills
- 3+ years' payroll experience in a similar role
- IPASS qualification desirable
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent eye for detail and strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
