At Dornan we are currently recruiting for a commercial lead to work on a large datacentre project based in Madrid 

 

Your day to day will include:

  • Manage and review the commercial performance of the projects from ‘cradle to grave'
  • Commercial control of the projects allocated to him
  • Collation, review presentation and the management of subsequent actions arising from the monthly cost reviews
  • Ensure project activity is within forecasted cash flow and agreed strategy, and actively monitor to ensure Project Director is aware of the cash position.
  • Review contract specifications and scopes with stakeholders to identify risks or gaps in the project's plan and support the Project Manager in the development and implementation of a risk management plan
  • Manage the commercial project team to engender their improvement and technical development
  • Identify and manage the business unit risk and regularly review them for the project
  • Ensure the CCS reporting is formulated accurately and submitted on time
  • Manage the close of completed projects to the best commercial advantage of the company
  • Managing the Client and other external relationships
  • Provide commercial/contract support as required, ensuring commercial practices are followed
  • To work with the project managers and senior QS to maintain excellent working relationships with the client from project start up to project completion
  • Lead and ensure the effective collation of data and information to provide analysis and reporting
  • Involved in the development and managing of the project measure and reporting
  • To ensure all projects are driven to provide the best value solutions and delivered on time and within budget

 

What we are looking for:

  • Proven expertise in quantity surveying & procurement, ideally on large-scale projects.
  • Degree-qualified, with chartered status (MRICS) or working towards it.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC, NEC or JCT contracts and cost management.
  • Ability to work with or without legal resources to draft contract clauses which capture the essential commercial issues of any situation
